The Traffic Fox?

Welcome to The Traffic Fox – one of New Zealand's fastest-growing traffic information communities.
What began in 2018 as a single Facebook group created by Kapiti local Kelly Fox during the busy Christmas and summer holiday period has grown into a media company and a trusted source of real-time traffic information for hundreds of thousands of motorists across the lower North Island and beyond.
The original goal was simple: help people avoid delays, travel more safely, and get home sooner. Thanks to the incredible support of our community, that small idea quickly grew into a service relied upon by commuters, professional drivers, emergency services, businesses, and everyday road users.
Today, our small but passionate team works around the clock to bring you fast, accurate, and reliable traffic updates. We receive information from a wide network of trusted contacts, including motorists, transport professionals, emergency responders, road workers, and members of the public. This allows us to share many incidents as they happen — quite often before they're reported through official channels.
At The Traffic Fox, we believe the best traffic information comes from the community itself. Every report submitted by our followers helps thousands of other people make better travel decisions, avoid unnecessary delays, and stay safer on New Zealand's roads.
Whether you're commuting to work, heading away for the weekend, or travelling across the country, we're here to help you make informed decisions before and during your journey.

THE TRAFFIC FOX ROLLING ‘ROUND THE STREETS
HMC Kapiti was without a doubt, one of our biggest supporters in our founding years, letting us drive around, firstly, in a brand new 2023 Suzuki S-Cross in 2022. Then they upgraded us to this incredibly fancy, sleek, zippy, and technologically advanced 2023 Kia Seltos LX+! We are so grateful to have the support of some awesome local people!

We were very humbled to be finalists in both the Kapiti Regional Community Awards, and the Wellington City Community Awards back in August 2023. Although we didn’t come away with a win, we felt very honored to be nominated and a part of the event!
