Metlink Passenger Trains Over Easter & ANZAC Long Weekends 2025
(Info from Kiwirail:)
KiwiRail is taking advantage of the upcoming holiday break to do some intensive network maintenance. The two holiday weekends coming so close together this year is a great opportunity to complete some complex work all in one go.
Kiwirail will be out on the network doing slope stabilisation, track replacement, platform renewals, bridge repairs, level crossing upgrades and more. This work will build on other projects completed at Christmas, including the upgrade to a computer-based signaling system at Wellington Station and the renewal of all 8.8km of track inside the Remutaka Tunnel on the Wairarapa Line.
As always, check metlink.org.nz for the latest bus replacement timetables while the trains are having a break.
