SEVERE WEATHER EVENT - 15/16 FEBRUARY 2026 - LOWER NORTH ISLAND
As at 6.30am Saturday 18th April, a severe thunderstorm watch is in place for Manawatu, Tararua, Kapiti-Horowhenua, Wairarapa and Wellington until 1pm, bringing the threat of torrential downpours and damaging winds. There has already been flash flooding around Hutt Valley, Stokes Valley, Plimmerton, Pauatahanui and the like. All traffic updates and road closures are in our Traffic Reports section or HERE
