FLASH FLOODING HUTT VALLEY/PLIMMERTON/MANA - 18 APRIL 2026
As at 6.30am Saturday 18th April, a severe thunderstorm watch is in place for Manawatu, Tararua, Kapiti-Horowhenua, Wairarapa and Wellington until 1pm, bringing the threat of torrential downpours and damaging winds. There has already been flash flooding around Hutt Valley, Stokes Valley, Plimmerton, Pauatahanui and the like. All traffic updates and road closures are in our Traffic Reports section or HERE

SH2 at Haywards Interchange as at 9.30am. SH2 is closed to northbound traffic from Kennedy Good Bridge Avalon up to Haywards. Southbound is open but extreme caution is needed. Video by Joshua Hay
